Our East Central Europe trip is drawing to a close; 4 days in Prague, then back to the USA. Prague is such a pretty and charming city. I love Prague for its walkable size, great affordable food, architecture, and the amazing views from the hilly streets & bridges.
No more trains, we are now traveling by tour bus; a 7-hour trip from Budapest, Hungary to Prague, in the Czech Republic. At the end of a long trip it is nice to just sit back (recline!) and go with the flow. We booked a Gate 1 Travel self-guided tour, which includes bus transportation, hotels in Budapest & Prague and a tour director. The tour director is on the bus, providing interesting facts along the way, and we could (but didn’t) book tours, through him, within the cities.
For entertainment, while traveling, we watched a terrific documentary video about Soviet occupied Hungary and its water-polo team leading up to the Olympics 1956 Games. The final game was played between the Hungarian & Soviet teams, it was a bloody battle in the pool. I found a similar version on YouTube for you! Unfortunately some of the segments of the full video are no longer part of this series. They will not play, so just skip to next video. It is worth a watch. Enjoy.
