Nursery Decor Dictionary Art Printable

This week I went dumpster diving to retrieve an old dictionary that was earlier tossed-out while de-cluttering closets. Yep, the dictionary was already at the bottom of the garbage bin, cover with other trash, when I remembered seeing dictionary artwork sold at a flea market, using a dictionary page with a graphic in the foreground. That old dictionary suddenly had Value, enough to take the plunge. I made several different pieces of framed art using the dictionary pages.

Here’s HOW…

First, I made a list of words (Boy, Girl, Brave, Love, Nest) that could be illustrated with art, then I scanned those word-pages from my old dictionary (I cut the pages out of the book to get a flat scan.) I wanted both of the two words that run across the top of the dictionary page to reflect the artwork, so I often had to reconstructed the dictionary page to position the chosen first & last word & definitions. That, cut & paste, can be done on the computer or by hand.

For today’s Be Brave Freebie Printable, I purchased a bundle of gorgeous watercolor art, Boho Bundle II, by artist, PEACE ART at my favorite online digital graphics site  I love the whole Boho-vibe for children’s bedroom decor using arrows, teepee, and feathers, and how moms now have embraced that look for gender-neutral decor. I borrowed the saying, Be Brave, little one, for my printable…doesn’t “Be Brave” seem like a strange thing to say to a child? LOL. It does to me, I guess the Brave fits in with the arrows, oh well it’s only room decoration.

The printable is for personal use only, not for resale. Tip: To allow the watercolor art to pop, use the brightest white paper available in a little heavier weight paper. If printed on letter size stock, it fits nicely into an 8″ x 10″ frame or 8″ x 10″ matte opening for a 12″ x 14″ or 12″ x 13″ frame.
